Wow! Here it is July already! How can that be? It is time to start thinking about your Thanksgiving Turkeys! We have begun accepting orders for turkeys. We have to take orders this early to be able to plan for and accommodate you and your Thanksgiving centerpiece.
We had a waiting list last year and were turning people away so this year we are raising more birds. Different kinds of birds too. Last year our smallest birds were about 15 lbs. Several customers were wanting smaller birds than we could offer. This year, in addition to the normal Broad Breasted (BB) White turkey (your typical grocery store bird) we are also raising a limited number of heritage turkeys called Midget Whites. Midget Whites are very similar to BB turkeys they just don’t get as big. They were created in 1960s as a small version of the BB turkey. They should range in the 8-13 lb range.
