I managed to get something in the ground today! Woohoo! It’s been so wet and cold I haven’t really gotten anything started. I have quite a few tomatoes, peppers, onions, tomatillos, lettuce and herbs started in my basement, but other than the onions, it’s not time to put those starts out yet.
So what did I plant? Potatoes. 42 starts. 19 white and 23 red. I was able to get them in the ground and able to mulch with compost the goats have so graciously left me before it began to drizzle. Thanks to my dear hubby who worked so hard to help me clean out the goat house so we could have it for the garden!
I have a little left from my winter garden that the turkeys didn’t eat – a handful of onions and garlic. I also have a few peas started, but its so cold and snowy, I’m waiting for this last cold snap to pass to see if I can replant them.
Unbelievably, Tuesday has another wintery day prediction. Hopefully those southerly winds will push harder to the north and we won’t get snow, but as it is now, I’m not holding my breath!
